Archives Department

With the aim of updating and maintaining the National Archive Fund, the NaUKMA Graduate Library established an archival unit in 2001, goal of which is to preserve and maintain archival materials that are coming from scientists and scientific institutions. Archives Department accepts documents printed on paper, electronic media, audio and video materials with the information that is of scientific and historical value. The documents are arranged according to the Law of Ukraine “On National Archival Fund and Archival Institutions” and the rules of the state archives of Ukraine.
On 1 January 2012, the Archives Department contains 95 funds of archival documents from personal origin, which is about 15 thousand documents. Among them are many valuable and unique editions.
Big part of the documents belongs to professors and scientists of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Documents of the Ukrainian diaspora from the U.S., Canada, Germany and other countries make the overwhelming fund’s majority. These documents came from the political and public figures, scientists, culture and art activists, and contain important information about political, social, cultural, artistic, religious, sports life in Ukraine and abroad.
