Bonuses for NaUKMA Scientists

The National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" has a Regulation on Bonuses for NaUKMA  employees, who are publishing in journals indexed in international scientometric databases Web of Science Core Collection and (or) Scopus.

According to this Opens external link in new windowRegulation , bonuses for publications in journals that are indexed in international scientometric databases Web of Science Core Collection (except Emerging Sources Citation Index) and (or) Scopus, are appointed by the President of NaUKMA twice a year, relevant to a publication activity of Kyiv Mohyla Academy’s employees during the current period (starting on December, 1st of the past year, till June, 1st of the following year; as the same starting on June, 2nd of the current year till December, 1st of the current year).

Only those authors may apply for Bonuses, who appear to be employees of National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" at the time of calculation, or those who study at NaUKMA. Applicants must maintain their pages in ORCID and /or Google Scholar as up-to-date, their publications must include the correct affiliation: for articles in Ukrainian - Національний університет «Києво-Могилянська академія», for English - National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (due to Regulation № 95, dated by 14/03/2016 p. The Bonus is calculated separately for each publication and in determining of its size we take into account: 

a) the employee’s number of publications in journals included in the Scopus and Web of Science Core Collection databases (except Emerging Sources Citation Index);

b) the number of co-authors;

c) journal’s quartile, according to Scopus and /or Web of Science.

Coefficients: I quartile = 4, II quartile = 3, III quartile = 2, IV quartile = 1, the rate for conference materials = 1 (for computer sciences = 2), coefficient for monographs = 1 (for social and humanities sciences = 2 ).

In some cases, NaUKMA President may remark special achievements in research work with additional awards as the best young scientists (under 35), employees who published an article in journals with high impact factor and / or SJR for a particular scientific field, employees who have high individual scientometric indicators (for example, h-index) in a particular scientific field.

Opens external link in new windowApplication for awarding is supposed to be made in person and can be initiated by departments, research units, doctoral schools and the Vice President for Research and Information (according to the results of the research reports), by Scientific Library (according to the results of NaUKMA employees’ publication activity monitoring).

The library will not include Book reviews in the list, because they are practically not cited in the scientific literature, and also will not include documents, that automatically appear in Scopus via Medline (MEDLINE sourced).
