Briukhovetsky Viacheslav

Viacheslav Stepanovych Briukhovetsky, founding Rector of the revived Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, President of NaUKMA, and, since September 2007, Honorary President of the University, began transferring his personal library to the University Library as early as 1992. The first donation consisted of 1,168 books.
As of January 1, 2026, the Viacheslav Briukhovetsky Collection comprises 15,685 items representing 11,574 titles, including books, periodicals, articles, brochures, and other materials.
The collection is housed in the Rare and Valuable Books Library (Building 4, first floor of the Kyiv-Mohyla Centre).
The first 1,168 volumes from Briukhovetsky’s personal library were donated to the newly established University Library in February 1992, when the library occupied only a single room. In the autumn of the same year, the revived Kyiv-Mohyla Academy welcomed its first students.
Today, NaUKMA is one of Ukraine’s leading and most highly regarded universities. Its library has grown into one of the country's major academic libraries, holding more than half a million items. By the beginning of 2008, Briukhovetsky’s personal collection already comprised 9,922 items representing 9,312 titles, including 1,843 copies of 596 periodical titles, as well as the scholar’s research archive.
