The personal library of Volodymyr Biliaiv (USA), a renowned writer, poet, journalist, and laureate of the Mohyla Academy Award, was donated to NaUKMA for permanent preservation and use by students and faculty members.
Volodymyr Biliaiv was born on June 25, 1925. His name became familiar to millions of Ukrainians through his long-standing work for the Voice of America radio service, whose broadcasts reached Ukraine for many years. His literary works, including On the Endless Wing..., Autumn Renewal, Olena Shyshatska..., Beyond Happiness, and The Bountiful Summer, are well known to Ukrainian readers.
Volodymyr Biliaiv passed away on February 12, 2006 at the age of eighty. In accordance with the wishes of his wife, Dorothy Biliaiv, and daughter, Alla Biliaiv Rogers, his personal library was transferred to NaUKMA as a named collection.
The collection comprises 236 copies representing 201 titles.
